Well, well , well, its my FAVOURITE time of the year! Christmas is upon us!
Christmas trees are in place (mine form November! ), presents are being bought and there most definitely is Christmas cheer in the air. People are actually smiling , even on the tube!
Our OSiT centres are busy, strangely all staff coming into the office, nothing to do with the drinks and parties, of course ?
I hope you each have reason to celebrate 2024 and are looking forward to welcoming 2025. We all deserve a break and spend time with people (or pets) that we love.
I am braising myself for the onslaught of Christmas dinner at my house to include grandchildren and pets amongst others! I am promising myself to remain calm , not worry about the mess, turn my ears off to the noise (luckily I am deaf and can actually do this) and the food will be eaten even if its not Masterchef quality!
Thank you for your support throughout 2024 and I look forward to bringing you updates in the New Year!
Happy Christmas and a Great New Year to you all.
Who doesn't love getting into the festive spirit this December?β¨π
The festive spirit was in full swing during our centre Christmas parties. It was such a great time, and as always, the OSiT crew made sure to bring the fun!
Volunteering at Idia's Community Kitchen
A couple of weeks ago some of the Monument team made special memories volunteering with Idia's Community Kitchen β a remarkable charity dedicated to supporting those in need in memory of Idia.
Amelia Woolley, Sarah Moore, and Ailish Fitzgibbon spent the day helping sort donations at Idia's new warehouse space, soon to be home to a community kitchen and advocacy centre. During this time, Aina Omo-Bare, the charity's founder, shared her moving story. Since its inception, Idiaβs Community Kitchen has grown from local food donations to now feeding over 1,000 people weekly.
Aina also mentioned a recent challenge: their van, essential for delivering meals, had broken down. But thanks to everyoneβs generosity our Monument Team has been able to raise Β£3,264!! Enough to repair the van & keep this essential service running ππΌ
Never underestimate the power of collective support and the impact we can have on our communities! From all of us at OSit, a heartfelt thank you to Aina and Idiaβs Community Kitchen for the incredible work you do.
Weβre proud to play a small part in your journey π
π The annual OSiT weekender! π
What a brilliant time at New Park Manor! Our annual OSiT weekender really stood out as one of the highlights of the year! A chance for the team to relax, bond, and enjoy some fun activities. We also had a thrilling 007-themed Murder Mystery Dinner, which everyone really enjoyed.
Everyone had to work together to solve the case of "Who killed James Bond?"
Safe to say, we took it quite seriously! π We look the part though, don't we?!
